On 18th October 2022, Simba Trailers Manufacturing Limited, Simba Logistics Limited and Simba Supply Chain Solutions Limited were granted Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status from the East African Community.
The certificates for the three companies were awarded and signed by Flavia Busingye, Acting Director of Customs for the East African Community (EAC). View the certificates here.
The AEO program is an initiative of the EAC adopted from the World Customs Organization to vet, approve and support traders moving good across borders. The program is part of a larger initiative to improve safety and security in global logistics.
“The AEO program is designed to facilitate and enhance the experience of the complaint trader when undergoing customs clearance processes. The simplified procedures for AEOs has had tremendous effect with regard to reducing the cost associated with the movement and clearance of goods.”

Benefits of being an AEO include automatic passing at customs declarations, minimal physical examinations, and waivers of several requirements during the cargo moving process across borders.
This will enable Simba Trailers, Simba Logistics and Simba Supply Chain Solutions to plan and move our clients’ cargo more easily and cost effectively across Africa and the world.
